Do I need any prior art experience to take this Art class?
No prior experience is needed! This course is designed for beginners and will guide you step by step through foundational art concepts. Whether you’re picking up a pencil for the first time or revisiting art after a long break, this class is perfect for you.
How long will it take to complete the course?
The course consists of 12 modules that will be the focus of the classes on a rotating schedule. However, you can progress at your own pace, whether that means taking classes 3 months or taking them for over a year. There is no start and end date – the amount you learn will depend on the time and effort you put into practice.
What materials will I need for this course?
All the materials you will need are provided for you. The materials are simple and beginner-friendly. You will have the opportunity to use a wide variety of supplies such as sketchbooks, pencils, acrylic and watercolour paints, and pastels.
Will I get feedback on my work?
Yes! The course includes opportunities for peer feedback and instructor critiques. You’ll also learn self-evaluation techniques to assess and improve your work.

Meet Your Instructor
Amy, of Amethyst Moon Designs, began her artistic journey in art classes just like these at the age of 9 and continued until she left home to pursue arts at university.
She entered her first juried art exhibition at the age of 17 and has never looked back. Amy has experience working, teaching, and volunteering at various art organizations across the country.
An artist who uses imagination, skill, and technique to produce works that express ideas, emotions, and perspectives; Amy primarily works in acrylic paint but has experience in a variety of mediums and techniques.
