There is a reason the eye is one of the most enduring symbols in the history of art. It’s a vessel of emotion, a reflector of experience, and a quiet storyteller all its own.
In The Window to the Soul, I wanted to capture that almost electric moment where colour, light, and feeling converge—the instant where looking becomes seeing.

This painting centers on a single eye rendered in rich, jewel-toned hues. Saturated aquas, amethyst purples, and deep teals layer together to create depth that feels both vivid and intimate. These colours were chosen intentionally: jewel tones carry a sense of inner fire, something precious and alive beneath the surface. They help the eye feel not just observed, but inhabited—something conscious, aware, and quietly powerful.
In creating this piece, I focused on the interplay between realism and emotional abstraction. The fine details of the iris and reflections offer something familiar and human, while the dramatic colour palette and broad brush strokes pushes it into a more symbolic realm. Here, the eye becomes more than anatomy; it becomes a metaphor for perception, intuition, and the layers of self we rarely show to the world.
Seeing, without being seen.

An exploration of depth, perception, and inner truth
The title, The Window to the Soul, speaks to the central idea: that eyes reveal truths our words cannot. They hold our histories, our hopes, our vulnerabilities. They witness the world while simultaneously reflecting our inner landscapes.
In this painting, the gaze invites the viewer into that quiet, private space—one where beauty and introspection coexist.
Whether viewed as a symbol of intuition, a representation of inner strength, or simply a celebration of colour and form, The Window to the Soul is designed to meet each viewer differently. It’s an invitation to pause, look closer, and connect.
